Wrinkle Treatment

Botulinum toxin, commonly known as botox, is a naturally occurring protein produced from the bacterium Clostridium botulinum. When botox is injected, it blocks the nerve signal (neurotransmitters) that tells the muscle to contract. As a result, the muscle's ability to contract and move is reduced, which relaxes it, and superficial wrinkles are smoothed out or disappear completely.

The treatment starts to take effect about 72 hours after application, but its maximum effect is visible after 10 days. In some rare cases, it may take longer for the full effect to manifest itself.

The effect of botox usually lasts between 4 and 6 months, varying from person to person.
After this time, the muscle will begin to contract again and the wrinkle reduction effects will begin to fade. At this point the next appointment for a botox treatment can be scheduled.

Botox treatment is virtually painless.
To minimize discomfort we use very fine needles and precision syringes; some clients compare the sensation to that of a small pinch.

The perception of pain varies from person to person; if you are very sensitive to pain, inform our physician so that we can use ice, anesthetic cream or other tools to minimize discomfort.

Botulinum toxin has a high tolerability among clients.
Minor reactions such as redness, slight bruising or swelling can sometimes occur after the injection and usually disappear within a few days.
